Father's Day

This post will probably go down in Lindsey Family History as the most interesting. First of all let me brag about how wonderful of a father Matt is. He is the "cool" dad. He is the one that the girls go to for extra snacks, hugs, love, attention and most of all approval. Matt is always there to do anything for our children, which includes letting the girls paint his nails or holding Carson all night after his first round of shots so I can take a break. I will admit I get jealous at times of how cool they think he is, but am so thankful for the relationship he has with his children. In their eyes, he is a superhero and that's all that matters. Thank you honey for all the love and attention you give our family. It wouldn't work without you.

Now let's get to the good part...Matt spent his special day in the hospital. He was given antibiotics on Thursday for a routine sinus infection and had a severe reaction to the medication. Long story very short: he got to ride to the hospital from our urgent care center in an ambulance (lights off) and was quickly admitted so they could see exactly how and why his body was shutting down. Three wonderful days in the hospital later we find out he can't take penicillin. Oh yeah did I mention the crazy roommate he had? It wouldn't be a hospital stay without one. I have pictures of the traumatic event but am saving them for when I really need to use them :) The best news is that he is going to be okay and that Dale Jr. won a race finally, so therefore he had a great Father's Day.

Now time to brag about all the other father's in our life...The reason I don't mind too much that my kids love their father so much is because I feel the same way about mine. My dad is always there to listen and give advice if I want (okay even if I don't want it). But his advice is always good. He is always there to hand out the hugs and kisses and will always give the shirt off his back for anybody, especially his children. He is also always down for a good time and never minds a good hard laugh even if it's at his expense. Thank you Dad for all you do for us. We love you.

Unfortunately Matt's dad isn't with us anymore and we definitely miss all the wonderful things about him. We love to talk about all the funny memories he gave his children and try and think of every single one-liner he used to use. Believe me we could write a book on those! He was a man who loved to laugh and have a great time. Family meant everything to him. He taught his sons how to put their family first, work hard, respect themselves and others, and dream and play big. We love and miss him very much.

This Father's Day was exciting and thankfully everything turned out okay but it just helped me to remember how lucky I am to have the family we have. Thank you to all the wonderful men our life for being good and loving examples. We love you!

Our Anniversary

Matt and I celebrated our anniversary last week and I wanted to post our wedding picture as I reflect on our years together. Then I realized they are all in a box in our basement. I didn't unload them since we are only here temporarily so I thought I would use some of the kids and Matt. We have had lots of exciting things happen to us in our time together but they are our greatest accomplishments so far. I'm thankful for my husband and the family we have together. I'm truly living my dream.
