We're Here!....

After one long day of dealing with Uhaul we finally got on the road and made it to Arkansas.
The kids did great. They really didn't fight too much considering their close proximity to each other but I would say the best traveler out of all of us was our dog Cali. She ended up having to ride in her kennel in the back of the Tahoe and we didn't hear a peep out of her. We found nice hotels along the way that were pet friendly. She really did a great job. It took us 2 1/2 days but the ride was worth it. This is what we looked like rolling down the road.
I would have to say one unexpected thing about our trip were all the dead armadillos we saw on the road. I guess maybe they are the rats of the south? I think there was one every mile, no joke. I spared you the picture. This is what our temporary house looks like.

It was a nice surprise since I rented it sight unseen. I just figured we could live in anything for a month and a half until our house is done. It actually has a flat screen in our bedroom, something we are not used to. I guess we may have to break down and get one when we move. The only let down may be that they only have 4 pans in the kitchen so you are challenged when you have to make something. I guess we'll be eating out a lot more now. Break for me! Arkansas weather didn't disappoint for our first night here. There were tornado warnings for about 45 min. at 3 AM. I didn't wake the kids up and thankfully we didn't get any. In spite of all that it already feels like home.

What we did the month we moved

We thankfully had a lot of help from all our friends in New York the month we moved. I still can't believe we moved in only one month. We were lucky that we knew we weren't going to be in Buffalo for long and didn't unpack a whole lot to begin with. I had a pizza party at the local community pool for the girls and their friends so they could say goodbye.

This is Carson's first friend Tyce. They played so cute together.

We got spoiled with friends inviting us over for dinner the week before we left. This is a picture of the girls with their cute friends the Christensen's. They decided to end the night with a big group hug.

We also had some crazy times with Uhaul the day we left. Long story but we ended up having to leave our truck in NY. Just know that if you ever need to use them take someone who knows about pulling stuff. Thankfully Matt knew some things or we probably would have pulled our car down to Arkansas with the wrong equipment and damaged it. This is my friend Molly consoling me and telling me it's going to be okay. At this point in my day I really needed that.

Happy Birthday Matt!

I know it has been a while since I have posted but as most of you know we moved and have been a little busy! Matt's birthday was July 17th and he was actually offered the job on his birthday. It was a extra special gift for him. We celebrated the day with our friends the Christensen's, delicious steak sandwiches, and of course our chocolate cake. He had a great day. Happy birthday Honey! You deserved the wonderful day you had.
